Consortium/Joint Degree Program Funding Opportunities

The Consortium provides funding for intramural projects related to the societal implications of problems in health, environment, and the life sciences. Since 2000, we have awarded more than $1 million to University of Minnesota faculty and students. Grant opportunities will be announced in November 2012 for work during the Summer 2013 and academic year 2013-14. We anticipate two types of grants will be funded:

  • UMN graduate and professional students are provided a stipend for research and writing and funding for research supplies, or funding for a program or colloquia for the upcoming summer and/or academic year. Approximately $50,000 will be available for these grants with a maximum award of $10,000.
  • Consortium member centers and graduate or professional programs or departments participating in the Joint Degree Program in Law, Health & the Life Sciences are funded for research, projects, or colloquia for the upcoming academic year and/or following summer. $55,000 is available for these grants.

Specific requests for proposals will be announced on November 5, 2012. Please check this website at that time for details.
