Consortium/Joint Degree Program Funding Opportunities
The Consortium
provides funding for intramural projects related to the societal implications of
problems in health, environment, and the life sciences. Grant opportunities will be announced in November 2008 for work during the Summer 2009 and academic year 2009-10. Three types of grants are typically funded:
- UMN graduate and professional students are provided a stipend for research and writing and funding for research supplies, or funding for a program or colloquia for the upcoming summer and/or academic year. $21,000 is available for these grants with a maximum award of $7,000.
- Individual UMN faculty members are funded for faculty research, projects, or curricular innovations for the upcoming summer and/or academic year. Approximately $25,000 is available for these grants with a maximum award of $10,000.
- Consortium member centers and graduate or professional programs or departments participating in the Joint Degree Program in Law, Health & the Life Sciences are funded for research, projects, or colloquia for the upcoming academic year and/or following summer. $71,790 is available for these grants with a maximum award of $35,950.
